Chiropractor | Pilates
Emily graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Science and Chiropractic Science. She completed further studies in Neural-Organisation Technique and is a qualified Pilates instructor. Emily believes patient care often requires a multi-disciplinary approach and incorporates her Pilates background to optimise treatment outcomes.
Emily's interest in sports Chiropractic was strengthened in 2011 during her time with Major League Baseball team, the Seattle Mariners, gaining invaluable experience working with some of the world's best athletes. More recently Emily has developed a keen interest in paediatric chiro following the birth of her baby, Ivy, who has benefited greatly from having a team of health professionals in her family.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys playing water polo, swimming, spending time with her family, renovating her home and going to the beach.
With experience working alongside some of Western Australia’s best footballers and tennis players, Grace has seen how Chiropractic care can help facilitate optimal physical performance and is critical in injury prevention.
She recently combined her love of travel with Chiropractic, participating in volunteer work in the far North East corner of India with the charity Hands On India. Challenging cases and persistent study have helped Grace become a Chiropractor and has lead to her taking a keen interest in assisting those with sedentary office jobs and students who suffer from neck pain and headaches.
Being a part of the Mercedes College Alumni, Grace has spent many years in and around the inner Perth suburbs. From running around the river for cross country training, organising street soccer at Wellington square and singing alongside the spirit of the streets choir, Grace has always loved all that this bustling area has to offer. When she isn’t in the office, you can often find Grace outside and keeping active, updating her music collection or down at the local cafe catching up with friends.
Headache, Neck & Jaw
James is our director of physiotherapy and remedial massage here at Spine & Sports Centre and helped establish the clinic with his sister Emily, and brother in-law Mason in 2017 before moving to Brisbane. Family is very important to James, and with a team of health practitioners in the family, setting up a clinic with them was the obvious next step. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Curtin University, and has recently returned to his hometown of Perth and to the clinic.
In Brisbane, working at The Headache, Neck and Jaw Clinic, James found a passion for treating complex cervicogenic, migraine and temporomandibular joint cases. During this time James completed Levels 1 and 2 in the Watson Headache® Approach which has provided invaluable insight into the role of cervical afferents in headache and migraine complaints. After working under highly experienced practitioners in a niche area of physiotherapy, James returns to our clinic with a skillset unique to Western Australia.
James has a passion for sport which was nurtured through his time at Trinity College, with special interest in rowing, swimming, hockey and athletics. On weekends you might find James four-wheel-driving, boating, fishing or making a poor attempt at surfing.
